How it works

HomeTeach Online is a service that will revolutionise personal tutoring. For just £15/hour, you and your child can access the brightest young minds in the country any time of the day, without moving from your computer. All you need is a headset, and the service couldn’t be simpler to use.

Once you have registered with us, click on the « Find a tutor » link. Once there, you simply enter your criteria for what you are looking for, namely the subject, and the level.

 

This will then take you to the results page. Here you will see a snapshot of all the tutors who meet your requirements. It will list their name, university, whether they are online or not, and a link to their profile.

 

 

  

If you click on their “profile” icon, you will be able to find out more about that tutor: what they are studying, what their background in teaching is, their availability and so on. This will help you make a more informed decision as to that tutor’s suitability for your child.

 

 

In order to schedule a class, click on the link at the top of the tutor’s profile page, “Schedule a lesson with this tutor”. You can also send the tutor a message at this point, in order to clarify times, dates, content, suitability and so on. We will email you as soon as the tutor has accepted this request.

On the day of the class, you should log on to your home page, and there will be a link enabling you to contact the tutor, once they appear online. Click on this link, and once the tutor picks up, your virtual classroom will open up, and you can begin your class!

Although you will need to have purchased minutes to call the tutor, no credits will be deducted from your account until you and the tutor and both ready to start the lesson. The tutor will have a button to click to start the class, and you will be away!
